My name is Kimo Kaʻawa, and like many of you, I’ve watched in horror as our beautiful island of Maui has been ravaged by wildfires this August. The flames have swept across our land, leaving destruction in their wake—homes lost, communities shattered, and our cherished landscapes scorched. This isn't just another disaster; it's a crisis that has shaken us to our core.
The Urgent Need:
Right now, thousands of our neighbors are displaced, with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They need food, clean water, medical care, and shelter—basic necessities that most of us take for granted. The wildfires have not only destroyed property but have left families torn apart, with many struggling to find a place to sleep tonight.
Our Mission:
This is where the Maui Wildfire Emergency Fund comes in. We are rallying together as a community to provide immediate relief to those who need it most. Our first priority is to ensure that every person affected has access to safe shelter, nutritious meals, and medical attention. But we won’t stop there.
